I believe a reaction from this hostile attack by Suncor is a clear monitor and to the Syncrude operation or COS will be under regukar attack by different parties. Eric Newell eluded to the cost reduction at Syncrude is acievable and must be achieved so COS can still be profitable or maintain the status quo no matter what's the average oil price for the year. On another note it appears the way SU attacked Syncrude reliability indicates that they want to take charge of Syncude, that is not cheap to be the majority owner of Syncrude.
