RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:NEWS!Try doing your own dd. The Stanleigh Mine at Elliot Lake mined uranium as deep as 3000' or about 900 meters depth.
Uranium is mined at depths of over 3000 meters in South Africa and is a byproduct of gold mines. But you already knew that basement hosted uranium mineralization can be mined at great depths and at depths much deeper than just 900 meters.Go back to FCU thread and explain the cost of mitigating dirty uranium mineralization at PLS and the cost of dealing with toxic rich ores carrying selenium, arsenic, etc., both when milling and the additional cost of tailings enpoundment......PLS is a combination of undesireable unconformity style mineralization which is full of toxic metals, and some cleaner basement hosted mineralization. How will FCU deal with both ore types? Will there be two mills?
How will FCU deal with toxic tailings full of deleterious metals?

quakes99 wrote: Hi shadeson.  Maybe you can answer my question.  According to the relative depths chart provided by Bill Kerr and Roger Wallis, there are no producing Uranium mines in Canada at 650m depth and below.  To your knowledge, has there EVER been Uranium mining at 650m or deeper in Canada, or anywhere in the world for that matter.   I'd be interested in knowing that.  Thanks in advance!
