RE:RE:Re the Suncor bid

RE:RE:Re the Suncor bidI respectfully have to somewhat disagree, anyone who has worked for Syncrude pre 2006 is extremely loyal. Most after that are not. Exxon ruined the place and turned it into unreliable plant and a much worse place to work. They came in guns a blazing and thought us Canadians were incompetent and they figured they knew better and would not listen to anyone (even the most senior people).  There are many examples of this like when they froze the plant up trying to save 4 million dollars on hording in the winter. It cost the company at the time half a billion dollars, at the time it was hiddden by higher oil price. Second to that production numbers have never reached the levels of the previous management team and they have had 9 years to work at it. There are many articles out there that have shown how Exxon underestimated the complexity, also the top 12 executives are all seconded to Fort Mac and have no skin in the game. They simply come in pad their wallets and in three years are off to a nicer destination. Syncrude used to be the leader in the area then they were completely passed by in every aspect by Suncor. Finnally I do not like the bid as it is too low however the one saving grace is that hopefully Suncor would come in and manage it.
