Electric Car

Electric Car

This week, FF announced that it will be spending $1 billion on a "state-of-the-art facility" to build its all-electric cars. "We can look at what peoples' needs are for the future and develop a vehicle around that".

The Faraday brand is tied to a Chinese multibillionaire with towering ambitions and an equally tall pile of cash.

While the company may sell cars in the conventional way, there's also talk of a shared ownershipoptionthat could work a bit like having an Uber auto at the user's beck and call.

Jia is worth $7 billion, according to Forbes, which ranked him as China's 17th richest person.

Apple Faraday is remaining mum on who it is.

Nick Sampson, who was the former director of vehicle and chassis engineering for Tesla, is now the senior vice president at the company and seems to be acting as the spokesman for the company. The company is hoping to push their product out of the door sometime in 2017, just 3 years after the company's creation while Tesla Motors on the other hand didn't launch their first electric vehicle until 5 years of the company's creation and that too was a Lotus-based Roadster.

For its significant manufacturing investment, Faraday said it is considering locations in California, Georgia, Louisiana and Nevada.

Apple Faraday employees so many Tesla alumni.

Tesla declined to comment Thursday on how a rival maker of high-end electric cars might affect its production.
