Hey “BlazzingK”,
I feel your frustration! Lots of things would have looked better with a .40 close rather than a .375 close, but as “Rock34” states, your trade went through on an alternative market as shown above.
I have had the exact same experience many times and unfortunately it is hard to tell when it will happen unless you have access to the bid ask on the alternative markets – I don’t but would sure like to. What I have learned from my own experience(s) is that had you put in a larger buy order (i.e. 5,000 shares) you would have a much greater chance that part or all of your trade would have been made on the TSX-V market and “painted the tape” @ .40 so to speak.
If you look at the top line in the chart above you will see that the total ATS volume is reported as
186.5k shares whereas the TSX-V volume reported is
159k. There were approximately 27,500 shares traded on the alternative markets that will NOT be included in a lot of charts, sites, etc. as they only use the TSX-V totals. Stockwatch is useful for seeing the trades on the alternative markets after they have happened.
I agree with both of you that today was a good day for NSP.
