The reason to own this stock is for a potential return of 3X or 4X on investment, if/when oil recovers. HSE, IMO, SU, etc will not do that. You can argue the odds, or the specific return, without a doubt, but I think you're being far too harsh to even suggest, in any context, that there would be no reason for owning TBE. There are a few others in the same boat, but of those that offer such potential, I think TBE is one of the safer ones. Making the risk/reward question better for TBE than potentially some others. You can also argue that the risk/reward for owing something like HSE is also good considering the reduced risk, for ultimate return potential, few would compare to TBE just because it's been so badly punished.
