RE:RE:RE:RE:SLC seems plagued, hopefully not doomed
RE:RE:RE:RE:SLC seems plagued, hopefully not doomedIt tells me that Neiman Marcus did not want to have a feature in their app that didn't work for the vast majority of its products.
I understand that you have a bullish attitude about this company but pretending that problems don't exist doesn't help anyone. If people in large numbers were using the product to complete purchases, Slyce could send the stock up 50% overnight with a press release.
Just because Neiman Marcus chose to include all of their products in visual search doesn't mean that the technology is being used by people in large numbers. It might mean waht you say. It might mean Neiman Marcus didn't want to have a half measure in their app. The point is, we don't know.
As I said before, altering people's behaviours is difficult. Asking someone to see something they like, then pull out their phone, then open the Neiman Marcus app, then navigate to the snap to shop feature then take a photo and hope for a match... is a lot of user friction. I'm not saying it can't be overcome, I'm saying that I would like some information from Slyce about usage habits.
