it's about the long term, they ar ebuying assets that wil be producing after we are all dead, and the prices will be much higher at that time.

so if the deal goes south which I don't expect it to, and if the SP tanks to 6 or lower which I don't expect it to, then I will be a buyer almost certainly.

That is fair. The assets are in the ground and there is value there. Oil at these levels aren't sustainable so I would expect it to higher at some point.
The issue is how long will oil be at these levels and can oil sand producers can withstand it.
