Righand, Apparenty it makes you feel good to self proclaim yourself as the smartest guy on stockhouse and  everyone is stupid but you, so have at it.

I am in the States, I have received these before, they show up for tax purposes on a 1099-DIV.  Hint the DIV stands for Dividend. MY CPA refers to a payment like this as a dividend since it shows up on the IRS form for reporting dividends.  However, you are correct, technically it is not a dividend, it is better than a dividend in the fact that NO Capital Gains taxes are due unless it exceeds your basis.
