I doubt it,  the guys that last in the Hedge side of the biz are typically some of the brightest and visionary around.  They formulate and repeat plans across different stocks and asset classes,  they dont get ideas from BS boards... doubt they even read them.   I just happen to know some of the tricks having done them myself back in the day.

They read charts, watch flows and use technicals to look for vulnerable situations with the right liquidity.   And right now,  this happens to be one of them.

The good news is,  alot of these guys play the game both ways,  and once they are done covering shorts and pressing price down... they get on the other side of the trade.

Looking at the fact that Cannacord , Merril , UBS, Credit Suisse are all net buyers today... i would say they are covering and getting long now... and we have put in a bottom
