RE:RE:RE:RE:AVO to be removed from S&P/TSX COMPOSITE HIGH BETA INDEXHard to deny it's a turd, but I think it was down today because it's a publicly traded stock. Everything was down (a few exceptions, sure) As for beta: Low beta is tempered upside but also limited downside. High beta is potentially greater than average upside but also potentially greater than average downside. Both are relative to the average movements of the market at large. In short, it is a measure of risk - compensation/penalty for that risk is at the buyer's/seller's discretion.
