RE:RE:U.S. Chief of Mission’s Visit to the Bisha Mine
In fact, mining companies usually invite (and often sponsor) visits to their mine sites by investment analysts to give their operations better coverage in the media. This one is not the case. Louis Mazel doesn't represent investment industry, he represents US gov. : https://eritrea.usembassy.gov/chargedaffaires.html I don't think Nevsun could even potentially dream of contracting the guy to just go and check if those implied wrongdoings had grounds. Why would he volunteer to go there and, which is more important and much more surprising, produce such a positive report? He wouldn't go there just because he had no plans for a weekend kind of thing. Well, unless it's a some kind of glitch in the "system", human factor type, it might be a sign of a change in political approach to Eritrea. I'm not jumping to conclusions right away but the whole thing looks interesting. It will not outweigh the commodity prices fluctuations but definitely it is something with "+" sign. Once again, thanks for the pointer.
