I don't know if a deal will be made, but I suspect if COS shareholders vote no to the 0.25 SU bid or SU withdraws the offer, COS's share price will likely fall below $7, maybe even to $6 or less........COS was trading at around $6 per share before the hostile takeover offer was revealed by SU, and oil has languished since then, so perhaps $7 is optimistic should the deal not go through....?.......I doubt COS management will have a superior competing offer to present to shareholders by January 4, so they would have to argue that it's worth it to have the COS share price get clobbered and hold on as an independent company (this way, they can continue collect their salaries, etc.)
I am thinking that with the discount spread this isn't going to happen. I'm a bit in the red on my latest trades, but made a few bucks when it was first announced.
I think I am going to sell tomorrow even at a small loss, this has me rattled.
Sold half of my holdings...waitng for another little pop. Sorry Guys to risky for such little gain.
Good Luck to all, I am officially out of this one. Lost a couple hundred....
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
