That's a really strange move : to "take a position" yesterday (December 23) for tax losses? December 24 was the last day for this year in terms of accounting. You planned to sell on Thursday to incur losses? You missed on losses, sorry. But if you did buy anything on Dec.23 you'd get $160 on each 1000shares bought. I sold today( meaning. Dec 24) 1K I bought 2 days before at $3.39 for the dividend , not tax loss. I have much more shares bought before at higher prices. I'll have some "tax loss" consequences due to that trade since my adjusted cost base is higher than selling price of that 1K. What tax loss are you talking about? Doesn't matter. What matters is the reasons of the move up. Even with the copper prices depressed the sp of this stock should be above CAD$4. Should be doesn't necessarily mean it will be. But I think the chances are we'll get back to trading around 4 bucks level.
