RE:RE:Schulich Releases Open Letter To COS Shareholders:I agree that SU really is playing this poorly....acting like a belligerent adversary with threats and other scare tactics. It truly is unfortunate as I believe mergers and acquisitions are precisely what should be happening if Canada wants to have any hope with competing with OPEC. Despite SU's hostile tactics, I also believe their taking in COS is best for all concerned. SU gets all those things Schulich refers to, and COS shareholders get the stability that comes with having a broader base (like owning refineries). Too bad COS and SU could not sit around a boardroom table and conduct themselves like professionals. Instead, shareholders must endure this p!ss!ng contest. I understand business is not always nice. But I think everyone is missing the bigger picture. The Saudis are playing for keeps, and all of this SU and COS posturing is playing right into OPEC's divide and conquer gambit.
