Haters are going to hate. I've seen obnoxious comments on The Globe & Mail and National Post to stop immigration so that locals can have a chance at home ownership. Why they didn't buy with 5% down a couple of years ago remains a mystery to me. They also complain that there is more competition for jobs.

Immigrants keep a ceiling on inflation as some will accept lower paying jobs while they continue their education and certification while others are able to assimilate into the work force and make use more globally competitive. Immigrants can also replace some of the brain drain Canada is experiencing with people moving to Silicon Valley.

Without the influx of immigrants, there will be no fire lit up under some of us local asses to get us working smarter and harder.

Besides the indigenous, we are all immigrants anyway so let us all learn to help each other.
