Baytex's beta relative to WTI (NYSE)Just regressed and graphed last 3year weekly data comparing Baytex and WTI, the calculated beta was 1.05, and the graph also showed that both moved in direct correlation. One interesting note was that Baytex tends to be more volatile compared to WTI, meaning if WTI goes down by 10%, Baytex may go down by 15% and vice versa. The excess percent may be company specific risk...
I'm shitting my pants now, I despite being labelled by some as pumpers, I'm trying to rationalize this as much as possible. Some posters had a good point that if Baytex trades below $1USD for 30 consecutive days, it will get delisted by NYSE. Now, I read into this, a) it has to be consecutive days, b) NYSE will notice baytex, at which point Baytex could work out a plan to resolve the issue. Again, at least there are options for Baytex.
