RE:RE:Zenith Liquidity & RVX royalitiesHi GV. Thanks for clearing things up...great points.
Re Zenith $19.5mm Don said at the AGM they raised that amount in the last year. I do not know but I trace that back to the period in the past year when the were inviting investors to invest a minimum of $100,000 each. Also I remember the investors were required to have a certain certification before they would be allowed to invest. I can't remember the name of the classification but one of the posters described it. I do hope you are right about needing money because that may accelerate the need for an IPO. Alas, I fear an IPO is not on Don's short term agenda. JMO
Regarding getting Zenith up and running my comment is that they have lost at least a year of time with Cherrington and creating ZEN3694. No matter, that is water under the bridge. However, I feel strongly that Don and the board did not do their homework when hiring Dr Cherrington. The blame rests at Don's feet IMHO.
Re RVX fund raising there is also NGN but your are right the big money was from the big boys and I presume not retail.
Regarding O'Leary from what I've read of him he is a snake and his funds are not doing well. I would never invest my money with him. If Don was presenting to him Kevin would be saying things like;
- How convinced are you of the science? Why?
- Do you have any revenue?
- You are talking about partners and licensing fees. Tell me more...who are they...why are they interested in ZEN compounds...have you actually met with any partners...you have brought in a number of talented scientists - why do they come to work at Zenith....when you present your scientific papers what questions are raised....what doubts are raised...have your scientists addressed concerns...
- On page 26 of your presentation of milestones Developments targets have been achieved but under Clinical targets and Corporate developments it looks like a wish list with no commitments to date and no SWOT. Where are your commitments?
- Finally, "where is the money Don? Show me the money and why I should give you my money with NO commitment from you? You are essentially saying to me that ZEL has good science, good lab tests, a genesis from RVX which yet rvx-208 is unproven and a bunch of brain stormed ideas and you are saying trust me!!!" Why should I trust you???
So I posed the Dragon's Den idea somewhat tongue in cheek BUT when you consider it as an exercise I must say Don's presentation doesn't cut it!!! The presentations have improved in the past 2 years but have a way to go.
Why does this matter? It matters because Don and the team have a number of presentations lined up over the next four months (Richmond Club, New York, etc). These presentations are like our Priminister Justin Trudeau and his team having all of the meetings with captains of industry at the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland. Him and his team are meeting with the leaders of the worlds largest corporations. He will not receive any "orders or commintments" but if he leaves a message that Canada has great intellectual and physical resources, an excellent health care system, a well educated and stable work force, excellent transportation, safe communities, etc and we welcome you and are open for business are willing to hear you and your needs and help.
- i.e. Trudeau needs create interest in checking Canada out.
Don and his team need to do the same. My sense is that ZEN and RVX have the science buttoned down. On the business side there are obviously many things that need to remain confidential. That being said there are far to many "open ends" that will leave investors not interested particularly when comparing ZEN/RVX with alternatives.
So Dragon's Den and Shark Tank was not completely a joke. I do realize it is a different type of investment.
So now I'm going to provide an impression I got from the ZEN AGM. I don't know Don but many have said he is a great guy and I'm sure they are right and he has kept the ship afloat for 15 years and also seems to have begun transitioning to a new business model with the Hepalink deal. He seemed to imply at the AGM is there is another Chinese deal coming together for ZEL or part thereof. I give some credibility and hope for this given that he completed Hepalink.
- But I sense that Don might feel that he has addressed the ZEN shareholders and now he can go away for a year and see if he can make some progress with no concrete commitments. This is not very re-assuring for shareholders. Essentially he's gotten rid of the pests (shareholders) for a year. If you think I'm being too hard here keep in mind he is well paid by both RVX and Zenith.
Regarding SH performance it is good today. Yesterday it froze 3 times and asked if I wanted to "kill" my post. So I decided at one point to work in "Word" and paste in to SH so that I would not lose my thoughts.
SH doesn't seem to have a spell check so I'll just chance it.
Your points always get me thinking. I haven't really said what I really feel about Don in a clear and blunt manner so read between the lines.
I guess at the end of the day I'm very disappointed about the lack of liquidity for ZEN but I am very excited about the possibilities in the next 4 or 5 years.
