RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:what does Telford know?A Tesla-X and a Kia Rio are both cars but they supply very different markets.
What you need to understand poetinvestor is that POETs optical interface is a very different technology and as such if properly executed will not just displace the existing VCSEL applications for Active Optical Cables and create a new market for Short Reach and Very Short Reach that is dominated by copper but will be very much applicable to the single mode needs that can only be provided by silicon photonics with very compelling improvements to both cost, energy and performance.
You first need to understand some fundamentals of the technology to have a starting point in terms of grasping the reality of the potential. So you can make all kinds of statements about the market but until you understand what POETs markets are those statements you are making are not based on reality. In other words you cannot understand the market until you understand some fundamentals of POET technology. Otherwise those statements that you make are random and of negative value for anyone attempting to understand the market value of POET. It is easy to be negative if you don’t spend some time trying to understand what POET is. You might surprise yourself if you spend some time trying to gain an understanding of what POET offers. You might begin to understand why senior industry people have joined POET and why they have been hiring people in product design. And dare I say it "why Tony Blevins (Apple's VP of procurement) is the only external member on the Technology Roadmap Advisory Board".
