copper ,gold mines NIMBY syndrome

copper ,gold mines NIMBY syndrome Taseko has felt the full pain of nimbyism with prosperity and now florence . I can quickly think of two large ones in AZ ,resolution and rosemont both blocked currently for environmental reasons - just those two account for 600k tons/year lost future production . Pebble mine(bristol bay) in alaska was planned at over 500k tons/year . Pascua Lama in chile  was projected to produce 800k ounces/gold/year .  El morro in chile  was also blocked  , that was another 300k tons/year plus gold .

"Chile’s environmentalist movement forced the government to tighten regulations. In 2001, it took 236 days to get an environmental impact assessment approved. By 2013, it took 506 days."

And those are just the ones I could quickly find , please add to the list if you know of others .
