RE:Onward and UpwardGiven the players and percentages involved, I would be surprised if the merger didn't go through. If there was any doubt, it would exist on the regulatory side, but from my own limited diligence, everything looks to be in compliance. Once Aralez gets its feet planted, I'm sure everyone will start the DEPOMED/ARALEZ merger watch, given the similarity of their pain portfoliios and that their market caps now seem to align to allow Depomed (according to US treasury rules) to jump ship and move to Canada.
The sector/market decline might ultimately be a good thing as you'd think the price of assets out there will have lowered for ARLZ to purchase using its new (upcoming) warchest of cash. The risk of overpaying for assets will now be decreased. If China blows up and the market further tanks, our advantage is that assets should become even cheaper for when the next bull market begins.
