802.11 AC Wi2Wi Announces Multiprotocol Wireless Combo Module
WM826 Addressing the Integration Demand From the IoT and M2M Markets
Toronto, Ontario (FSCwire) - Wi2Wi Corporation (Wi2Wi or the Company), a leading global developer and manufacturer of wireless connectivity solutions, high precision frequency control, timing, and microwave filter devices, is pleased to announce multiprotocol WM826 family of products, in its maximum performance (MX) series with industry’s highest level of integration addressing various demanding applications in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) markets. Adopting WM826 in their systems, system designers can eliminate multiple wireless components and related integration and co-existence issues from their designs. Using WM826 will significantly save time to market and substantially reduce overall product cost for our customers. The best in class and cost effective WM826 is ideal for various demanding applications that require multi-radio co-existence, very low power and high performance. Examples include home and industrial automation, wearables, medical electronics, intelligent vehicle infrastructure (IVI), streaming audio and video, and many other emerging applications. Production units will be available in the early second quarter of 2016.
WM826 expands Wi2Wi's rich connectivity product portfolio addressing the integration demand in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) markets. The best in class multi-protocol wireless combo modules are highly integrated and include 802.11ac1x1 very high throughput (VHT) and 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth BT4.1 plus low energy and near field communications (NFC). Bluetooth 4.1 with LE specification, the module enables the new ecosystem of low energy Bluetooth Smart devices which can be tethered to the smartphones, and other consumer devices for new and emerging applications. In addition, the integrated NFC allows ease-of-use including simple automatic pairing of WLAN and BT devices. The module is fully certified for FCC, CE, and IC and comes with out of the box integration tools with all the required protocol stacks, extensive software libraries including cloud access support and sample applications.
“We are extremely excited about this product which provides robust connection and high performance for demanding applications such as high definition video streaming and gaming, while supporting the low power applications such as wearables with its small size and low power consumption. By integrating all the necessary wireless protocols like dual-band Wi-Fi, BT 4.1, LE and NFC into a single module which gives developers flexibility to design a variety of IoT and M2M products.” said Ramesh Duvvuru, VP of Engineering Wireless Connectivity.
“We congratulate Ramesh and his team for coming up with a highly desirable product line addressing the IoT and M2M markets in such a short time. WM826 will position Wi2Wi well in front of others to tap the fast growing IoT and M2M markets” said Zachariah Mathews, President and CEO of Wi2Wi.
