Incase you didn't notice gold is most definetly in a steady uptrend and not going parabolic .... fyi inflation is not the only factor that moves gold , maybe take a look at the US dollar and you may then understand why gold is in an uptrend now. All the US dollar bulls must be soiling their pants today.
Yes gold pays no interest but based on what a few central banks have done so far (BOJ for example ) moving towards negative rates just to stimulate economy , I am sure more central banks in the world will be joining BOJ in the future , when that occurs , storing $ in an account collecting interest is not gonna look too appealing anymore
