RE:RE:Legal medicinal and recreational use in all Canada. Respectfully I disagree.
Canadians have voted on a basic principle of legalizing, regulating, and restricting access to cannabis for everyone and for the government to manage the transition.
That’s not the case in the U.S. You have states that say it’s legal but the prevailing federal law says it isn’t. Big problem.
No access to banks and financing for business and a disparity of rules from one state to the other.
So if you were to travel from say New-York to L/os Angeles you would at times be legal and not at other times, just because you changed state. You’re going to need an app on your phone that tells you to dump your weed on the side of the road before entering one state and to stock up in another one while you’re in it…
I believe you’re going backwards at it… It nevertheless remains historic and useful but it creates many problems and differing rights for each citizen depending where they happen to be.
Replace cannabis with cotton and imagine living in a world where one state allows you to wear jeans and the other one forces you to wear synthetic clothes….
We are lucky in Canada to start from a national consensus on legalizing and then take some time to fiddle the details… Time will tell ;)
