Fortune favours the brave!

Fortune favours the brave!I worked for Canadair back in 1979 when it was a crown corporation and owned by Canadians. Canada supported the Challenger program throughout the expensive phases of its development and certification. Then, in 1986, before it finally began to sell and earn much more than what was invested, it was sold cheaply ($120 million) to Bombardier who then went on to reap the huge rewards of Canadian taxpayer's investment.

The Cseries is at the same point in its evolution. It only recently received its certification and will soon earn back what was invested (or much more!) when deliveries begin and the aircraft can prove its worth.

The option now is to support it so that it can become profitable, or repeat a similar mistake (imo) than was made in 1986, and sell it cheaply to a foreign owner. We've already invested too much Canadian money and expertise into developing the Cseries. You don't sell a farm before you even know what the first harvest will bring. I'm convinced the rewards will be huge, as were those of the Challenger program shortly after it was bought by Bombardier. At least Bombardier is a Canadian company, so the profits and jobs will remain here. Fortune favours the brave!
