My previous biggest holding was a good 6 bagger and I transferred a lot of that into D. I have picked up in excess of 32,000 shares which pay me over $6,000 a month. One way I look at it is for half a million bucks one can put all that into a rental house and maybe earn 2k per month. I think buying these assets at half price and letting the management do all the work is an awesome alternative. I only have 5 to 10 stocks at any given time. All pay Canadian dividends. All make money. I just rotate into beaten down names and wait. I purchase more shares monthly with my dividends. I've been through these times before and wait them out. Once my dividend pay me $300,000 a year I'm retiring. I'm thinking another 10 years when I'm 50.

6 grand, now that is sweet!  I totally agree, I used to own a 4 plex and its nothing but a pain in the butt.  I'm doing the same thing as you, buy REIT's & let them do all the work.  I'll just take the dividend.
