Much needed green day?

Much needed green day?S & P 500 futures up over 1%, IBB premarket up over 1%, VRX up about 2.5% premarket. Hopefully we have a solid day today.

As for fdfd's video, I think the risks in this market are being overstated. The US economy is looking good, the world economy is in much better shape than in 2008. The banks balance sheets are looking a lot stronger as well, and central banks will not hesitate to make easy money available quickly in the event of a liquidity crisis. Are there risks? Yes. It this going to be a repeat of 2008, I seriously doubt it.
However, if you are really worried about this possibility there are a few things:
1. You can hedge against a massive market drop like this relatively cheaply.
2. If you want to invest in a relatively recession resistant industry bio-tech fits the bill, a recession should have a negligible effect on cash flows.
3. CXR has a very low forward P/E, realistically after a year of earnings behind it how low do you think it can trade on a TTM PE basis in a year's time, even if the S & P 500 sheds another 15%. Once it has shown a year of consolidated results I would posit that a TTM PE of 5-6 would probably be close to a floor.
4. Right now the focus is on repaying debt, but CXR at the current price could buy all of it's own stock in as little as 3 and a half years. If it goes lower they could do this even faster. With excess cash and if the price were to go lower, at a certain point the best thing they could do with it would be to buy their super cheap shares.
5. If the stock price were to tank enough, someone would look to acquire them. The recent trend in the industry has been consolidation, and with a great tax structure CXR would be a prime target for a tax inversion.

Hopefully this helps put your mind at ease. You seem very nervous at the moment, which is understandable if this is your biggest position. But I do think perhaps slowing down and thinking it through might help. Extending your time horizon as well may help. in 12 - 18 months we will be much higher than this, and I will wager anyone that wants to take that bet.
