I agree to some extent.  Most people I know just want to buy and hold because they don't want to spend too much time.  People are lazy, they want to most money for the least amount of work.

I can't daytrade but I want to trade as aggressively as possible in light of the volatility especially in oil.

If you can daytrade and are good at it, that's great.  But most people can't do that.

Not sure about using stops.  I checked the charts on this and there's some big action that triggers stops on purpose.

I'd used stops on less traded stocks for sure. But the higher the volatility, the less use stops are.
