RE:RE:Next week might get interestingHey Mates,

I think the concerns of being taken private, or a low takeover offer coming soon have a low probability. As justification for my position I recommend those interested review the following document:

https://www.osler.com/osler/media/Osler/reports/mergers-acquisitions/Canadian-Public-Company-Mergers-and-Acquisitions.pdf

The key is that as of today's date, Bottin alone owns 37% of the outstanding shares in Mountain Province Diamonds, and you can be assured that they will not allow that percentage to decline. Even in the unlikelihood an offerer could achieve 66 2/3% and attempt a going private transaction, the laws in Canada require approval by the majority of minority shareholders.

Remember, the TIGS did not achieve their financial success through a 20 or 30 or 40% gain on their investments. Sure they're out to make money for themselves, but we should never forget that their interests align closely with ours.

Conclusions:
  • the chances of a takeover of Mountain Province Diamonds at anything less than CDN15, or of being taken private any time soon, are remote.
  • unquestionably there will be additional late arriving players entering MPV going forward.  This is not uncommon.  Nobody wants to miss out on an evolving success story like ours. BlackRock is a typical example.
  • shareholders should not be rattled by the machinations of the uninformed
Blue skies ahead!!

Cheers,

Brit
