RE:RE:RE:RE:VVhy is this still listed."Are you saying that all IDC ever was, was the Military Contract?"
It is the only thing theat kept them alive. Here are 3 posts on the subject. The first one is 2 years prior to losing it when another poster busted out the military numbers. I extrapolated from that what the business would look like without it. The second one is less than a year before they lost it when I commented on what there problem was. The third is when the announcement came out. RE: RE: RE: The IDC we know
Ridgeway, just a few points. You stated
"it means about $2.8 million in annual revenue and about $1.6 million in EBIT.
Where did you come up with an EBIT like that? Their total annual revenue for 2011 was $34.4 million with an EBIT of $376,000. So are you saying without this 12 year old ongoing government contract that their revenue would have been $31.6 million with an EBIT of ($1.324 million)? Are you sure of that? It would mean IDC's livelihood hangs on one Government contract that represents only 8% of there revenue and the remaining 92% of the business operates at a monstrous loss?
You said
"as it awaits the thawing of the "European winter" that has affected capital budgets in the old world."
That is kind of a stretch IMHO. Things could be better, but North American technology is fairing quite well. Are you sure this 28 year old "Winter" that IDC has been experiencing is not their own icebox that they locked themselves into...and then lost the key?
Good luck all the same. I will check back in once in a while as I have for many years. Maybe IDC's ice age will thaw before they put me on ice. I definitely do not want to miss that. I will bring the hotdogs.
RE: RE: CommunicAsia 2013
When push comes to shove Shackle, all IDC has really been is a one trick pony, which is a single 13 year old support contract for the Canadian military. It is what supplies their paycheques and subsidizes all their other efforts which are all money losers. It is not the majority of their revenues but it supplies the only real earnings that everything else feeds off of.
I am not trying to trash the company but it is a fact. That contract is the only thing that has stopped this company from going under many years ago. How do you expect any investor to get excited about stagnation and status quo? That is why on most days not enough stock get traded to even buy a decent hotdog cart.
If this is to change then it is all up to IDC. It will require more than just talk and attending trade shows.... and quite frankly I have lost track of the years that it has been nothing more than that...Earnings will be in the range of (+1)-(0)-(-1) and share price in the range of 20 to 30 cents 90% of the time so long as their existence depends solely on a single government udder. If that were to ever change then I would buy in big time, but I am afraid that after all these years complacency has woven itself right into the foundation of this company. it is a shame but it seems to be the way it is. Not all students shoot for A's. Some are happy just scraping out a pass so they can get that car that Daddy promised.
As always, good luck and wishes that someone sticks the proverbial firecracker up their butt.
RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:CFRT contract terminated
Shackle, in my opinion they announced it now because the information is available from the CAF end. Under those circumstances they have an obligation to do so. If they did not then people could be trading on this information which could leave them wide open for a share holder lawsuit.
This is what I have said a long time ago would be your biggest nightmare. That contract is the only thing that contributes positively to your bottom line. Without it I do not see how IDC can make it through this year in their present form.
