Steam Vive HDMI cable is Redmere active cable

We have purchased an ultra thin, 15ft long HDMI to replace the one that is now not working. We have tested the HMD with another Vive provided HDMI cable to ensure the problem was in fact the cable.

In the 3 cable set the HDMI cable is active Redmere cable

You need an active cable. They generally have one end slightly larger than the other because there's circuitry in the end of the cable. This should work:
