This was the news release. WTI was around 45 $ at that time. I agree, BBI wouldn`t get bought out for such a price right now. There are a lot of difference between BBI and Kicking Horse but I can only see advantages for BBI. BBI has 70 sections in the liquids rich Montney, KH had 25. BBI already delinated approximatly 30 sections of their land. BBI right now has CAN 10-12 Mio cash in hands, KH had about CAN 100 Mio in depth. This means in my understanding that BBI doesn`t have the pressure to sell in the near tearm. BBI can achieve positive cash flow when the tied in the wells. And just to remind you, the break even oil price for the 2-20 well is 30$. Like Garth Braun said, the best indicator where something is going on is infrastructur. There is a lot of processing capacity planned a couple of miles around Blackbirds land package. The montney overall is right now "that" area in Canada where you have to be because it is the most economic and has by far the most drilling rigs in Canada. BBI will reduce its drilling and completion costs to 7,5 Mio, this will make upcoming wells even more economic.
In my opinion will BBI wait till the oilprice recovers in the 50-60 $ range and then will consider a buyout. I can see BBI go again to the 40-50 cent range in 2016. But I also think the minimum ask price for BBI is 1 CAN.
