the impurities are not measured by the mass or weight of the overal mass, the they are measured in parts per million, ie molecules (or the multiple, moles) of one element versus molecules (or moles) of another, not grams of one versus grams of another, this is a totally different comparison and not what is being stated or compared.
it should be clear that if no impurities are introduced while removing the Oxygen, the base purity is a direct indication of what will be obtained when the Oxygen is removed.
how does anyone manipulate this high purity starting point to indicate it is not representative of the final result?
