RE:RE:Troubles for Olympus Just Get Curiouser and Curiouser....

For those in lack of reading material, here's the text of the five-year corporate integrity agreement with the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Olympus had to sign:

There are people at Olympus who will have to walk straight. Which will be easy according to the assertions of the top mng in a press release distributed to the employees (don't laugh):

Especially so since 

The company, based in Shinjuku-Ku, Japan, agreed to a monitor to ensure its compliance with anti-kickback and other laws. Fishman said the monitor will be Larry Mackey, a former federal prosecutor who tried the Oklahoma City bombing cases.

 

Meanwhile the U.S. Attorney wiil focus on the infection dimension of the activities of Olympus

In May 2015, Olympus disclosed a subpoena from the Justice Department regarding the scopes that it received in March of that year. The company is also facing civil lawsuits from patients who claim they were injured by the devices.
