RE:RE:Insane buying "Insane" is a great word to describe the recent activity in markets as a whole, not just FR SP moves. Fundamentals have certainly gone out the window these days and everything seems to be driven by central bank messaging or investor sentiment. Although I do agree that nothing goes straight up and that an inevitable correction is in the cards, I personally am not concerned as I am not a trader. As a trader, yes, I would be concerned at this point that this could shift quickly. Now on the flip side, if you are a "good" trader, these parabolic moves in either direction can probably make you a lot of money. Now, let me explain where I believe the situation today is significantly different than that of the last few years where PM's did have some false starts at the beginning of the year. What I believe is different today: -Real "smart money" is moving back into the space again at record levels - ETF's etc.. -Confidence/trust in central banks is fading quickly. -The global macroeconomic outlook is not good with big economies showing signs of slowing (i.e., China, Europe, Japan etc...) - even the good 'ol USA is a mess but this hasn't been communicated to the people yet :) -Rampant Debt. -NIRP/ZIRP everywhere. -Political instability. -Volatility/uncertainty which demands money to seek safe havens. -PM's supply fundamentals starting to shift due to a lack of exploration work and capex over the last 5 years or so. -Central banks (ex Canada) are continuing to buy gold and demand for physical continues to grow in major emerging economies like China, India and Russia. All of the above stated reasons are gold positive (silver will follow). As long as you are of the opinion that PM's will continue to move in the direction that they are (of course there will be corrections along the way) companies like FR that have solid management, good balance sheet and are extremely undervalued IMO at these levels will produce returns that some can only dream of. As someone has stated, FR have expanded their portfolio, are leaner and have plenty of cash in their coffers for further M&A activity. Big money does not move into the space on pure speculation alone - they know something that we don't. Just my two bits.
