RE:Happy Sunday.... Marijuana may be legal as early as AugI have been thinking about the last move from Canopy (Tweed) for quite some time and I think the rebranding of "Better by Tweed" to "Main Street" is genius... And I believe in the asymetry of information within the markets. Tweed knows where this new industry is heading, they are positionning themselves to take full advantage of it, moving the chess pieces before the real game even starts! I believe we will see more news about "Main Steet" opening new shops in the few months ahead. I couldn't agree more with Mr Arsenault: "There's been a lot of speculation that provincially owned liquor stores would control the recreational marijuana market. Arsenault likes the idea of the liquor boards overseeing the regulatory regime, but he's not sold on stocking strains next to spirits. "I'm 100 percent in agreement that it should be managed as a program by the individual liquor control boards. However, the term 'managed distribution' could take many forms. Is it sold in a liquor store? Is it store by a store licensed by the liquor control board? We [the country] need to have this dialog." I don't think dispensaries will be a problem, either they apply to have a license involving close watch from a government agency, either they get closed. I believe Vancouver is paving the way with their system; regulate a few dispensaries from the hundreds that were created opportunistically, this way you cut down in the costs from increased government oversight but deal with the health concerns arising from the illegal source of cannabis. Can't wait for news about the new system! Long and strong, DYODD
