Perhaps A Warning
Perhaps A WarningDisclosure - I own shares in both EXS and CUU both of which are exploration companies working with Teck. I have owned CUU since 2005 and EXS for about 4 months. CUU had an agreement to explore Schaft Creek for Teck. CUU found 6M ounces of gold,5.6 Billion pounds copper,52 M ounces Silver and 365M pounds Moly. A huge resource. Teck and CUU entered into an agreement to develop this resource with Teck(75%) being responsible to for development expenses. So far so good. CUU shares jumped from 10 cents to $2.75. However shareholders soon found out that it is difficult (impossible) to sell 25% of a possible mine. CUU shareholders have been waiting now for 2 years while Teck runs optimization studies and does further drilling and does not even mention Schaft Creek in news releases. My shares are now worth 15 cents in spite of this huge resource we own 25% of. Shareholders don't know for sure but we speculate that our value is so low because no one knows whether Teck will move forward with this project or when. Also as I said no company is likely to purchase 25% of a project that may not be developed until 2025(perhaps). We do know that at some time CUU will be worth much more as eventually Teck will move on this project and when it becomes a mine (not if but when) CUU will receive 25% of the profits of a mine built and paid for by TECK. Sounds like a sure hing and probably is but many of us could be dead before it comes to pass. Why did I write this, you might ask? Well in my mind and I hope I'm wrong but isn't this the same situation EXS is in. We may discover gold but Teck may decide to sit on it until 2030 or longer. There is nothing saying they have o move upon discovery. They may decide to wait with gold in the ground as long as they like. EXS may run out of money in 10 years and accept whatever Teck offers and it may be peanuts.
