Santos will present environmental delimitation of eight new moors

The President Juan Manuel Santos with his Minister of Environment , Gabriel Vallejo and other officials amount to the new protected area, the moor Belmira - Santa Ines , in Antioquia , to present the delimitation eight moors for that are protected from mining and other damages.

 

Amid the commemoration of World Water Day , the head of state presented the delimitation of the moors of Miraflores, Sonsn, Picachos, Frontino-Urrao, Farallones, Paramillo, Tatam and of course that of Belmira - Santa Ines.

 

According to information provided by the Casa de Nario, these moors benefit more than 3 million people with water supply.

 

The country has 36 moors, they supply 70% of water to the population and save millions in water treatment and transport infrastructure.

 

In addition, Colombia has 60% of the moors in the world, which led to that in 2015, the government undertook to have at the end of 2016 all these delimited ecosystems.
