Athabasca Oil Corporation (AOC) is a Canadian energy company with a focused strategy on the development of thermal and light oil assets. AOC’s segments include Light Oil and Thermal Oil. The Thermal Oil segment includes the Company’s assets, liabilities and operating results for the exploration, development and production of bitumen from sand and carbonate rock formations located in the Athabasca region of Northern Alberta. It also consists of two operating oil sands steam assisted gravity drainage projects and a resource base of exploration areas in the Athabasca region of northeastern Alberta. The Light Oil segment includes its assets, liabilities and operating results for the exploration, development and production of light crude oil and medium crude oil, tight oil and conventional natural gas. Its Light Oil segment consists exclusively of the Duvernay in the Greater Kaybob area with about 155,000 gross acres across Kaybob West, Kaybob North, Kaybob East and Two Creeks.

RE:ath boringyes I agree BUY boring stocks and sell exciting stocks before the excitment vanishes.

it's quite simple if you have patience and understand the companies you are investing in.

ATH has very good value at current prices but not to say it won't fall if oil prices fall back and consolidate in mid 30's but longer term, ATH will be smaller but much better.

plus they still have infastrucutre assets that they can sell for well over 150-200 million which will add more strength to balance sheet  and make them a good less risky play.

right now all eyes on hte closing of Murphy deal and that will add 0.25-0.50 cvents to ATH SP IMO but again it will depend on direction of oil prices in the short term.

short term hold or buy and long term buy as well.
