BOEING recognizes AVCORP Boeing Recognizes Six Canadian Suppliers for Outstanding Performance Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, March 8, 2016 - Boeing [NYSE: BA] recognized six Canadian suppliers in its annual Boeing Performance Excellence Awards (BPEA) program for 2015. With approximately 600 suppliers across the country, Canada is one of the largest international supplier bases for Boeing. BPEA winners roughly four percent of our supply chain are among the best aerospace suppliers the world has to offer, and Canadian companies are regularly among our top achievers, noted Jim Barnes, Boeing Defense, Space & Security director of global marketing for Canada. Our Canadian suppliers and partners are critical to our efforts to address the needs, not just of Canadian customers, but of customers around the world. Apex Industries of Moncton, New Brunswick, received a gold award for providing products and services to Boeing that meet or exceed lofty performance targets for quality, delivery, cost and other areas. This was the companys second consecutive gold award. This Boeing gold award truly puts Apex among the top aerospace and defence suppliers worldwide and is due to the smart and hard work of our staff, said Keith Donaldson, vice president of sales and business development for Apex Industries. AVCORP Industries (Delta, British Columbia), Fellfab Limited (Hamilton, Ontario), Magellan Aerospace Winnipeg (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Messier Dowty (Ajax, Ontario), and Valliant Machine & Tool (Windsor, Ontario) were recognized with silver awards. In order to receive an award, a supplier must maintain a composite performance rating of either silver or gold for each month. Canadian partners provide aerospace parts for all Boeing commercial airplane models and defense programs, including the V-22 and CH-47 rotorcraft, F/A-18 and F-15 fighter aircraft, P-8A maritime patrol aircraft and aircraft trainers. Combined with the Boeing facilities, this supply network contributes significantly to the Canadian economy by generating approximately USD$1 billion in business annually. In addition, Boeing has successfully completed more than USD$6.5 billion in industrial and regional benefit programs in Canada, and the company is working on USD$3.1 billion of additional obligations.
