Turan Quettawala Scotia

Turan Quettawala ScotiaTook a big hit on this last spring. Have a new found respect for Turan. He was calling the cash squeeze on this six months before the January 2015 announcement. Wish I had listened but I just couldn't believe a management team could be so incompetent. What the hull was the CFO doing. What numbers was he looking at? We all knew that Pierre was an enormous goof but you would think the CFO would be able to see the 3 billion shortfall and would have convinced someone to take action. Still pains me. Turan is now neutral on the stock - which says a lot in my books. I'm back for a little more pain I guess. France wants the 415 and wants to build a price into it that will assure Bombardier gets something for its trouble (they really want the plane in other words), the 7000 may still get sufficient funding to get the program back on track in time for a recovery in this sector (oil). The 85 is a distant memory of a technically complex, flawed aircraft that was never going to pay for itself (I think the pilots were afraid to let if fly itself and the avionics and control systems would have cost a fortune to sort out). The Q400 is finally up on the auction block ready to be sold to India or Russia where sales volumes and labour costs can make it a viable competitor to the ATR. The Challenger (still the best business jet in its class) is likely to see some sales with Boeing and SAAB as a sub tracker/survalence plane. The CRJ 1000 can be canned since nobody wants it or they can't fly it due to pilot restrictions. All in these are good signs - the drunk is sobering up to the reality. The really good news is with the CS. Swiss likes the plane, they may even really like it, and if they really like it, others will follow. Thank God Swiss took on the task and not Malmo or whoever it was. Swiss is respected. Now if only they could channel a few 300s to Swiss we would have envious eyes on both planes in Europe. In NA we have AC but we still need a US major - take the hit. SW won't buy but the both Delta and United would buy it at the right price. Pick your poison - it isn't too late. If you are short, I think Turan is telling you to cover on the next dip - he's usually right with this one and probably can sense that the wind is changing direction - sure hope so.
