Greens are Collapsing Colombian Economy ! Most Greens (and bureaucrats) have Tunnel Vision and truly think Money grows on trees;
These are the same people that want to ban Mining/oil everywhere.
The march against the government had a massive participation
The difficult employment situation in Barrancabermeja; the rejection of tax, labor and pension reforms; rumors of privatization of the Aqueduct; and not cumplimieno of commitments made in previous strikes, are some of the reasons that led to the protest.
Nearly 2,000 people, including workers, trade uniofrom nists, students and teachers, were mobilized in the Santander capital yesterday to reject some of the economic measures of the government of Juan Manuel Santos and to demand the defense of public goods.
The massive march took peaceful and without incident, although it affected the mobility of some main roads of the city as the race 27 and 36th Street.
This time the turnout was higher than at other times, largely for the variety of reasons given by the demonstrators to attend the protest.
Perhaps one of the facts that most mobilized demonstrators was the announcement of Mayor Rodolfo Hernandez to restructure the Metropolitan Aqueduct (Amb), which has been seen by workers as a labor persecution and an indication that is going to privatize the company ( the local administration has denied).
In addition, it is noted that the call was made by the labor unions to reject the draft tax reforms (with VAT increase), labor and pension.
Similarly, solutions were asked the Government deal with the crisis arising from the non-modernization of the Barrancabermeja Refinery.
There were also expressions against the rate increase IMTS, lack of investment in health and education, and the alleged persecution by the mayor of Bucaramanga to public servants.
In the end, despite rumors that could arise some kind of confrontation with the police (there were hooded and threw gunpowder), none of this happened and the day ended calm before 5:00 pm.
