Not necessarily a bad strategy, however, bear in mind that if your strategy is to catch a rebound in valuations, this fund will underperform because of the calls. You'd probably be better off buying some of the top names in the fund. If that's too much bother, you like the the additional income security with the call strategy, and don't mind paying the higher MER, then this fund should be ok.
