I as well am surprised about blending material from Harte with ore taken from Barrick's ore. Advantageous for Barrick as their C pit ore is low grade. Blending definitely reduces the cost per ton during the milling and refining process. When I worked at Hemlo we had an ore dumping station accross the road from the heating and ventilation system for the shaft and Barrick's underground operations. I would have expected that Harte's ore would be dumped at that dumping station and up through the coarse ore bin to the mill and refinery. This would have provided a better calculation on gold recovery. I guess the assay lab takes a grab sample from their C zone open pit as well as a grab sample of Harte's ore and does some kind of calculation to come up with a result for Harte.
Next step is to discover more ounces of gold and the stock will give us a lot more to talk about.
