A consolidation is tricky, the shareholders who bought at a higher share price would have to wait longer to break even here's an example
if your average is 4.00 and they do a 10for1 =$40.00per share
the shares now are trading at around 1.40 x10 =$14.00
so the share price would have to reach $40.00 before you would break even
