It appears the S7's active copper interconnect is thinner and faster than any other active copper interconnect on the market. It is is more similar in size to fibre but much lower power consumption and cost. Fibre does have the advantage if the interconnect requires it to be much longer in length but for shorter length interconnects, this looks like a superior product.
