RE:RE:Ecodes Study

RE:RE:Ecodes StudyThanks sailor8. I would not hold my breath that Santos will make a decision and announce it in three weeks. What he says on radio and what happens in real life sometimes do not match. What would we expect him to say when he does surface? My best guess it will not be definitive, rather he will say the government will "review" the paramo situation. We are looking at months to hear what they will do. If there are negotiations that commenced within 30 days, he still has six months at least to come up with a solution before EOM files for arbitration.

Strategically, that time frame can only be shortened by pressure from the municipalities and EOM. I repeat that EOM has not made good use of the Ecodes study. It may well be ignored again in any revision to the paramo elevation or coordinates. History has a habit of repeating when it comes to Colombia. Keep in mind that there is no one in the Mines portfolio right now. It does not appear Santos is taking this seriously.

I hope I am wrong and he comes out and flatly says Angostura is not in Paramo as he should. However, that is wishful thinking, he has ignored Ecodes because there is no pressure on him, most likely he will continue to do so and they may indeed redraw the coordinates within the beaurocracy.
