RE:Airbus hopes to launch hybrid passenger planes by 2030WOW, your definition of a few years is 14years. i guess the other posters on this site were right, you're only a few years old. therefore your judgement and opinion cant be taken seriously.
Please read the article fully. it's a HYBRID engine, NOT an electric engine. which means that planes will still be using fuel in 14 years. also if you think the CSeries will be a dinosaur in 14 years, then what do you call the 737? a fossil? the 737 is almost 50 years old. Thank you for your support of the CSeries, no airlines will be buying fossils.
it's 25% reduction of fuel consumption during landing and takeoff ONLY. and i will admit that the overall fuel reduction MAY NOT be significantly below 25%, it is only due to the fact that the range of this aircraft is 620miles (Approx 520 NM).
besides even IF this hybrid plane succeeds, and that's a BIG if. 2030 is 14 years away. C Series and BBD would either succeed or fail before 2030. if airbus' development plan takes 14 years, it's pretty much a guarantee that there will be quite a few major delays.
This whole article is simply a puff piece for Airbus, it has no factual relevance to anything going on now. It's all theory and speculation.
