How does this volume translate into $'s? Well, from info online... "
Current prices for CSPG produced from natural flake graphite ranges from USD$7,000 and USD$12,000 per tonne, compared to USD$20,000 per tonne for synthetic graphite material made from petroleum coke - the only other currently viable alternative for the anode in a lithium-ion battery

Lets suppose Tesla is encouraged to utilize, and they have suggested they would prefer to use, US sources, the range in price is $7K to $20K per tonne for spherical. I won't get into rationale here about what price since this is all speculation anyway and we are just trying to ball park. Pick a mid point for argument sake at $13,500/tonne
Tesla is taking orders for 325K cars. We estimate 100 lbs per car. or 32.5M lbs needed at the outset. This translates into 14,741 tonnes.
At $13,500/tonne we are looking at a requirement for $200M of graphite... to start ... for cars only ... at just one plant.
Hmmm. That looks like a pretty good market opportunity. No?
