RE:What if no Delta order? I welcome all comments. With +/- $65B of orders in the pipeline already, X-Delta. Then there's the very soon entry in service with Swiss and then Air Baltic, so I'd say the shares would break the 200 dma for that day or very short period (say $1.35 or so) and then hold close or slightly above the 200 dma price.
That said, I instead expect a general reversal to a series of recent disappointments (albeit most small or predictable such as write downs). The AGM will provide other sauces to taste and eventaully United will be back sooner or later. The C-Series pipeline is well poised right now.....
I don't know much about the airline industry, but I know enough to guess that with Delta's already well established relationship with Bombardier. Delta needs new efficient planes ASAP, and by taking over the republic slot will receive 2018 deliveries, which in and of itself is very attractive. Embrer in my mind isn't a serious competitor here.
Lastly the whole maintenance and service combination with Delta is very desirable for both parties. Few people talk about the longer term importance of the maintenance portion of these deals for both sides - it's another important profit center too!
